Gridwane, and what it knows about you

Very little, and none of it leaves your phone. Below are the questions people actually ask, answered one at a time.

So who is actually responsible?

Dragon Real Estate Advisors Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

Our registered office is 843 Finchley Road, London NW11 8NA, United Kingdom, and the director is Mathew Evans-Pollard. We publish under the name EchoForge Studio. We wrote the game, we maintain it, and we are the data controller for anything described in this document.

Write to forge@dragonrealestate.services about any of it and a person answers within five working days.

What does the game save about me?

Your best score, the board you left mid-game, and your settings. Nothing that identifies you.

All of it is written into the private storage area Android reserves for each installed application, which other applications on the device cannot read:

To erase it, uninstall the game, or open Settings → Apps → Gridwane → Storage → Clear storage. That resets the best score and every preference, and cannot be undone.

Do you get a copy of any of that?

No, and we could not obtain one if we were asked.

There is no backend of ours, no synchronisation, no leaderboard and no account for anything to attach to. Gridwane never opens a connection to a server we control, because we do not run one.

What permissions does it want?

None whatsoever.

Gridwane requests no runtime permissions. It does not touch your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, location, calendar, call log or messages, and it does not need internet access in order to play.

Vibration goes through the standard system haptics, which require no permission grant, and it can be switched off in settings.

If a later version ever needed a permission for some feature, Android would ask you at the moment that feature was used, and this document would already say why.

Are other companies involved?

Only Google, and only because the game is distributed through Google Play.

Gridwane contains no advertising libraries, no analytics libraries and no social network integrations. We build no profile of you, we do not follow you into other applications or websites, and we sell or share nothing with data brokers — we have nothing to sell or share.

Google independently collects installation, crash and device information under its own terms, which are outside our control — see the Google Privacy Policy. Where Google Play services libraries are present in the binary, they may handle technical identifiers such as device model, Android version and an advertising ID for the purposes Google sets out. None of that reaches us in a form that identifies you.

My child plays this. Is that a problem?

No. There is nothing for the game to collect from anybody, child or adult.

Gridwane is a puzzle game suitable for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and since it collects none from anyone, it holds none belonging to a child.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us personal information — by writing to our support address, for instance — tell us and it will be deleted.

What happens if I email you?

We keep the message while the question is open, and for up to two years after.

That is so a follow-up message can be recognised rather than answered from scratch. Our basis is our legitimate interest in supporting the people who play our games. Nothing goes onto a mailing list and nothing is passed to anyone else.

What am I entitled to ask for?

Access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.

Those rights come from the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR and they apply here in full, even though there is very little for them to apply to. You may also complain to a supervisory authority — in the United Kingdom, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Write to forge@dragonrealestate.services and we answer within one month.

How safe is what the game stores?

It sits in Android's per-application sandbox, isolated from everything else.

Because nothing travels, there is no traffic anyone could intercept and no database of ours anyone could breach. We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to the little information we do handle, while accepting that no form of electronic storage is ever completely secure.

Will this document change?

Only when the game changes or the law does — and always before, never after.

The date at the top is the date this wording took effect. If a future release begins collecting anything not described here, the rewritten notice is published before that release ships.
